save the date: June 5 and 6

… for Bushwick Open Studios
My studio will be open during the 2010 Bushwick Open Studios, June 5-6, noon to 6pm.
free cold adult beverages will be served and the A.C. will be on. There are six of us in the building showing paintings, drawings, collage, prints, photographs and sculpture. 796 Broadway at the Flushing M or J local, #52 on the printed directory.

From the Museum Insel Hombroich. I’d never liked Cezanne much before seeing these watercolors.

The museum includes simple and perfect buildings designed by Erwin Heerich. Here is a tour of the grounds.

crayon melted into plaster. the bond is very tight with a smooth finish. crayon is probably no more archival than styrofoam; i guess those are non-issues anyway.

the project is nearly finished. i’m now working on the background which will be a drawing of the cloud field at top made on a crushed ripple textured paper found at a salvage store.
